The $10 Amazon Product That Cured My Dandruff

Not the sexiest of topics- I am aware. However, it is something I have been shamefully dealing with for the past… 4 years 😐

Gosh I know so embarrassing. I should have gone to the dermatologist but my stubborn self thought at first it was just a seasonal thing. Then I thought “Oh, maybe this product will work, or this other product or maybe moving to Bali.” Nope. Nope. Nope.

With that context I think you will understand why I am SO excited about this product!

Dandruff with color-treated hair is tricky! At one point I started using Head & Shoulders which seemed to be working until my colorist informed me that it was not a great idea unless I wanted yellow hair. SHOOT!

So I moved on to many other products and supplements some of which helped a little bit but never anything significant. With one exception! In Bali I got a hair treatment called a Creme Bath and that stuff was magical and I didn’t have dandruff for a full month after. But due to the language barrier I have no idea what was in it or what they did so I could never recreate it. 🙁

Luckily I found a product that is much cheaper and more convenient than another ticket to Bali!

Maple Holistics Sage Shampoo Anti-Dandruff– $9.95

This product doesn’t need fancy packaging or marketing. It has over 3,000 reviews on Amazon and 4 1/2 stars!

There’s literally nothing not to love about it! It’s sulfate-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, vegan and safe for color-treated hair.

According to my Amazon order history, my bottle was delivered on Sept 13th and today is Oct 11th so I’ve been using this shampoo for almost one month every time I wash my hair (about 4 times a week). And I have only gone through about 1/5 of the bottle! This stuff is a steal!

I massage the shampoo into my scalp and let sit for what I guesstimate to be about 3 mins then rinse and follow with my normal shampoo and conditioner. YES I shampoo twice.  I also believe this is part of the reason my scalp is responding so well!

I still have a long way to go on my hair journey, between thinning, graying and breakage I’m pretty much a hot mess but at least I have dandruff off the list!!

Let me know if you have any tips and tricks for thicker, healthier hair below- I could use em’!
