3 Alternatives to Toxic Products
By this point you already know that I don’t go au naturale with every product I use (call me when someone makes a decent natural makeup line). But I am aware of harmful chemicals and like to minimize my usage of products with cancer causing ingredients, call me crazy.
If you haven’t already dumped the traditional versions of these 3 products, the time is now!

In the moment I assumed it was just another one of my mom’s spur of the moment fads she loves to throw at me every couple weeks. But then I realized I had never really had a second thought about what exactly I was (there’s no nice way to say this) putting inside of myself every month!
After doing my own research and seeing words like cotton bleaching, chlorine, and pesticides I decided my mom was onto something and ran to whole foods for my first pack of
cardboard organic tampons ever, ah. Don’t be too afraid though, the cardboard technology has come a long way and I hardly noticed a difference from the plastic ones. The brand I use-
This is one that most of you probably know you should switch but haven’t found a good alternative for yet. That was me, until I found Lavanila Sport Luxe. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for in a deodorant, aluminum-free and has no parabens or phthalates. This is the only natural deodorant that has ever lasted through an entire workout and P.S. it smells amazing!
So the spectrum in this category goes from uber natural (like straight zinc oxide) to chemical city (like Neutrogena). I like to be somewhere in between. If you don’t enjoy your sunscreen you are less likely to use it which is a bummer because, skin cancer.
The problem for me with most super natural sunscreens is that they leave a white cast causing me to look deceased, no thank you. The chemical ingredients I like to steer clear of are mainly PABA and Parabens. I also don’t like to go for the super high SPF sunscreens because these will typically have even more chemicals.
