Are you ready for the two hidden acne causers you put on every day..
Laundry detergents and dryer sheets!
Holy moly guys these things are the ultimate pore cloggers for already acne-prone or sensative skin. If you have been dealing with body acne or just acne in general think about it, you put both of these products on your body every day!
Sure you may not be slathering them on during your skin care routine but you are inadvertantly putting them on every time you lay your head on your pillow case, dry off with a towel or put on your clothes!
There is a LAUNDRY-list (see what I did there) of harsh chemicals and fragrances in standard detergents, softeners and dryer sheets. In fact too many and too boring to list so take my word for it or go here to read more. But wait, I have a solution and it will still leave your clothesand linens clean and smelling amazing.
Introducing Crystal Wash. No this is not sponsored I just actually love this stuff.
No dyes, perfumes or chemicals- just crystals!
The crystals work by changing the pH levels of the water in your washer creating a hydrogen peroxide effect that cleans and disinfects your clothing. I add 10 drops of lavender essential oil to the crystals and my clothes come out smelling even better than my favorite standard laundry detergents! The best part is that it lasts for 1,000 washes so it will actually save you money long term! Watch the video on their home page to learn more!
So let’s recap, it’s better for your skin, saves you money and is better for the environment. What’s not to love?!
And we can’t forget those dryer sheets! Wool dryer balls are my weapon of choice to combat static and wrinkles. Spray them with a diluted essential oil mixture before use and you’ve also added some beautiful and natural fragrance.
PS: To be EXTRA gentle to your skin just skip the essential oils altogether and go the unscented route!
Go ahead, give your skin, body, wallet and world a little love and make the change to these natural and EFFECTIVE alternatives.
