WHAT TO DO IMMEDIATELY AFTER POPPING A PIMPLE
You did it and now it’s red and inflamed. Here are your next steps after popping a pimple:
With a (preferably) foamy cleanser wash your face to avoid any bacteria from spreading to or from your freshly popped pimple. Alternatively, you could use a Micellar water or a cleansing towelette if a full face wash isn’t in the cards for you.
To fight the redness inflammation that sometimes comes with pimple popping you want to cool down the effected area and there are a few ways to do that.
A cold cloth
A cooling mask
Ice cube directly to face
This step will be extra helpful if you have popped in the morning and have to apply makeup after.
(avoid popping when you have to put on makeup whenever possible)
Neosporin, Bacitracin etc.
If your pimple oozed clear or red while popping, you’ve done some damage to the surrounding area of your pimple. Neosporin will kill bacteria as well as help the broken skin to heal, resulting in your pimple disappearing faster and having less of a chance of scarring!
If your cooling mask and/or ice didn’t solve your redness and swelling problem this stuff should do the trick. Cortizone cream is often used as an anti-itch cream but it also is formulated to reduce redness and swelling making it perfect for post-pimple-popping. However, if you have ever experienced breakouts from Cortizone before you obviously don’t want to put it on your pimple. 🙂

PLEASE NOTE: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding please check with your doctor before using Bacitracin or Cortizone creams.
